History and undo
Undo the latest change
Press Undo under the message box to step back the most recent change, by anyone on the project. The undone change stays in History, so you can bring it back. Undo is greyed out until there's something to undo.
The History tab
Open History above the preview to see every version, newest first, with who made it and when. Click one to see exactly which files changed and how.
| Label | What made the version |
|---|---|
| AI change | A prompt you or a collaborator sent. |
| Hand edit | Someone saved a file in the Code tab. |
| Merged branch | A prompt that ran alongside others, or a git push, joined in. See parallel prompts. |
| Restore | Someone brought back an older version. |
| Undo / Undid a change | Someone used Undo, or undid a single older change. |
| Import | The project was imported from GitHub or a ZIP. |
| Start | Where the history begins. |
Versions that went live show a “Published v2”-style badge.
From the chat
You don't have to open History to find a change. Under each reply that changed your app, a button such as 3 files changed opens History on that version, showing exactly what it did.
Under each of your earlier prompts, Restore to here puts the app back to how it was right after that prompt. It works like Restore this version: Ninoo asks you to confirm, and the current version stays in History. It isn't shown on the prompt that made the current version, or to viewers.
Look at an old version
Pick a version and press Preview this version. It opens on a preview of its own, with a banner saying so. Your app, the live preview and History are untouched. From the banner you can restore it or go back to the live app. The preview closes by itself after 30 minutes.
Restore a version
Restore this version puts every file back the way it was at that point. It's saved as a new version, so the one you replaced stays in History and you can undo the restore. Ninoo asks you to confirm first.
What History doesn't keep
.env files (your secrets) and files over 10 MB aren't saved in versions, so Restore and Undo leave them as they are now. Keep your own copy of anything like that you can't lose.Undo just one old change
Undo just this change removes what one older version did and keeps everything made after it. It's handy when a change from a while ago turned out to be a mistake.
If later changes touched the same lines, it can't be undone on its own and you'll be told which files clash. Restore an earlier version instead, or ask Ninoo in the chat to take that change out.
Who can do what
Everyone on the project can read History and see what each version changed. Only the owner and editors can preview, restore (including Restore to here) or undo. See roles.
